iTeach privacy policy
Last updated: 1 November 2026
This page explains in plain words what data the iTeach mobile app and its admin console keep, what for, who can see it, how long it is kept and what your rights are. Questions: email Hasan.hamid014@gmail.com.
1. iTeach and your school
iTeach is used by schools, learning centres and educational groups. You cannot create an account in the app yourself: student, parent and staff accounts are created by the school or organization. Each school is responsible for its students’ data; iTeach keeps and processes that data on the school’s behalf, only to provide this service.
2. What data we keep
- Account information: first and last name, username, date of birth (to apply age rules and parental consent), country and app language, school, class or group, and role (student, parent, teacher, manager). Each account signs in either with a username and password that the school gives, or with a one-time code sent to a mobile number or email address the school entered. A mobile number or email address is optional when the account uses a username. Passwords are stored in hashed form and nobody can read them.
- Learning information: answers to assessment and practice questions, reviews, lessons opened, results, the learning state of each skill derived from those answers, suggested next steps, and personal badges and goals.
- App use: meaningful actions inside the app (for example a screen opened, or a practice started or finished), with the app version, operating system and language, recorded under a pseudonymous identifier.
- Problem reports: if you send a report from “Help & support”: your text, the app version and the phone model (no device identifier).
- Notifications: your notification settings and, if you allow notifications on your phone, a notification token (an identifier that Firebase Cloud Messaging gives us to reach this app on this device). It is used only to deliver iTeach notifications, never for advertising or tracking.
3. What we never collect
- Location, contacts, camera, microphone, fingerprints or face data.
- Individual keystrokes.
- Gender, or a title such as Mr / Mrs.
- Advertising identifiers or unnecessary device identifiers.
iTeach has no advertising, contains no third-party tracking or analytics tools, and we never sell anyone’s data or give it to others for advertising.
4. What we use it for
- Providing the service: lessons, practice, assessments, reviews and a suggested next step for each student.
- Showing progress to the people who are allowed to see it (section 5).
- Secure sign-in, preventing misuse and recording important security events.
- Sending notifications, sign-in codes and invitations.
- Answering support requests.
- Improving the learning content and the app.
5. Who sees what
- Students see all of their own learning information.
- Parents linked to the student by the school see the child’s learning state and reports, but not sign-in times, time spent or “last seen”. A student who has reached the age of digital consent can pause a parent’s view.
- Teachers see only the students of the classes and subjects they teach.
- School managers and administrators see the students of their own school.
- A group that owns several schools sees only totals per school, never individual students.
- Other schools: if a student belongs to two schools, each sees only its own data. Sharing between schools is off by default and is turned on only by the student (or by the parent of a younger student).
- The iTeach technical team accesses data only to run the system and give support, and this access is logged.
Every change to these permissions (a parent linked or unlinked, sharing turned on or off) is recorded.
6. Services that help us
- Servers: data is stored on servers operated by the iTeach team itself.
- SMS and email: to send sign-in codes, invitations and security messages, the number or address and the message text are passed to an SMS or email service.
- Phone notifications: when notifications are on, they are delivered through Google Firebase Cloud Messaging and, on iPhone, Apple Push Notification service. These services receive only the notification token and a short general text; the text shown on the lock screen never contains names, subjects or results, and details are shown only inside the app.
- Report wording: where the school and the country allow it, part of the explanatory text of reports is written with the help of an AI service. It receives only facts without names; names, phone numbers and email addresses are never sent. The AI never decides a score or a learning state.
- We may disclose data to an authority where the law requires it.
7. Security
- All traffic between the app and the server is encrypted (HTTPS).
- Data kept on the phone for offline use is stored encrypted and is erased when you sign out.
- Permissions are checked again on the server for every request, so when someone’s access is removed they stop seeing data immediately.
- The sign-in screen never reveals whether a username or number exists in the system.
8. How long we keep data
A learning history is complete and trustworthy only if nothing is lost from it. Data is therefore kept permanently, and the only way to remove it is an approved deletion request.
9. Copies, corrections and deletion
You (or the parent of a younger student) can ask for a copy of the data, the correction of wrong information, or deletion:
- Tell your school or organization, or email Hasan.hamid014@gmail.com with the name, school and username. We may confirm your identity through the school.
- After a deletion request is registered there is a 7-day waiting period, during which the request can be withdrawn.
- The data is then deleted or anonymized and the requester is told.
If a student belongs to several schools and only one of them asks, only that school’s data is removed. The whole account is deleted when every school has asked, or when the person (or the parent of a younger student) asks through support. Totals that were already computed remain without identifying anyone, and only the fact that a deletion happened (when and by whom) is kept, not the deleted data.
Step-by-step instructions: Delete your iTeach account and data.
10. Children and parental consent
- Many iTeach users are children and teenagers. A child cannot create an account in the app; the school creates it.
- For a student below the age of digital consent in their country (18 unless the country sets another age), the school must confirm, before creating the account, that a parent or guardian has given consent. This confirmation is recorded.
- iTeach has no chat with strangers, no public profile, no leaderboards and no advertising.
- Parents can ask the school or us to see, correct or delete their child’s data (section 9).
11. Changes and contact
If this policy changes, the date at the top of this page changes, and important changes are announced in the app or on this website.
